Cocamide DEA

Cocoamide (DEA) Diethanolamine is a surfactant that’s boosts the foaming properties
in formulation. It is derived from coconut oil and can react with fatty acids to form
an amide. It is used in personal care products. It is known for its gentle action skin
and hair. It creates rich lather in products such cleansers, face washes, shampoos etc.
It is a good cleansing agent that cleanses oil, dirt and sebum effectively.
However, it’s essential to note that there has been some concern about the potential
formation of nitrosamines, a group of compounds associated with health risks, in
products containing DEA. Therefore, some formulations may opt for alternative
ingredients with lower associated risks. Always follow recommended usage guidelines
provided by suppliers.
